GW Racing are specialist in the building of V6 and V8 Ford or Chev engines for either street or race cars. We also do the day to day services on brands such as Toyota, BMW, Volkswagen Ford etc.


Gavin started racing in 1992 and got off to an incredible start in his career by WINNING the ‘Drag racer of the year award’ and in 1993 Gavin won the ’Drag racer of the year award as well as being the SANDRA Champion. Gavin Wilkins is the builder as well as the racer of the Ford Mustang that has won the National as well as the Regional Championship in 2012 & 2013. He has been a record holder in different race cars over the years such as the Ford Capri, Ford Sierra as well as his Mustang.


Gavin has built Championship WINNING Wesbank Modified V8 engines for Brandon Auby, Jimmy Auby as well as Des Gudzeit. Gavin also builds engines for V8super cars, Super Saloons, Historic, Off road LS engines, Cobra’s and more…

2011- Jimmy Auby wins 1st in SuperGT Racing class with a GW Racing engine.

2012- Mark Auby sets Swartkopz Track record in GW Racing Chev engine

2012- Gavin Wilkins wins the National and the Regional championships of the year in Drag racing

2012- Warren Lombaard wins Team Cobra championship in a GW Racing engine
